- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter and mix in brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Add sliced bananas and cook for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and vanilla to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Pour batter into a greased baking dish.
- Carefully spoon the banana mixture over the batter.
- Sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a splash of rum to the banana mixture.
- This dish is best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
