- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fruit jam (raspberry, strawberry, etc.)
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the vanilla and almond extracts, mixing until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, and salt.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Using your hands, form small balls of dough and place them on a prepared baking sheet.
- Make an indentation in the center of each ball using your thumb.
- Fill each indentation with a small dollop of fruit jam.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
