A delicious and creamy potato gratin that’s easy to prepare.

- 1 kg potatoes
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 200 ml milk
- 100 g grated cheese
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and sauté the onions and garlic until translucent.
- Layer half the potatoes in a baking dish, add half the sautéed onions and garlic, then season with salt and pepper.
- Repeat the layers and finish with a layer of potatoes.
- Mix cream and milk, pour over the potatoes, and top with grated cheese.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
- Let the gratin rest for a few minutes before serving.
- For extra flavor, add herbs such as thyme or rosemary.
