- 9 sheets lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup crushed gingerbread cookies
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup shaved chocolate
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
- In a saucepan, whisk together milk and cornstarch; cook over medium heat until thick and smooth.
- Stir in vanilla extract and let cool slightly.
- Layer ingredients in a baking dish starting with noodles, then ricotta mixture, followed by gingerbread cookies, and walnuts.
- Repeat the layers until everything is used up, finishing with noodles on top.
- Pour the custard over the top layer and sprinkle with heavy cream and shaved chocolate.
- Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
Notes
- This dish can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
- Top with whipped cream before serving for extra richness.
