- 1 pinch saffron strands
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 egg
- In a small bowl, dissolve saffron in warm milk.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add melted butter and the saffron milk mixture to the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough until smooth and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Shape the dough into buns and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
