Delicious Texas toast sandwiches filled with flavorful beef and served with a savory dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Texas toast
  • 1 pound roast beef, sliced
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add garlic and onion powder.
  3. Add sliced roast beef and coat with the butter mixture. Cook until warmed through.
  4. Spread one side of each piece of Texas toast with remaining butter and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Layer the roast beef and provolone cheese on half of the Texas toast slices.
  6. Top with remaining Texas toast slices, butter side up.
  7. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  8. In a saucepan, combine beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; heat until warm.
  9. Serve sandwiches with warm dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sautéed onions or peppers to the beef.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated for convenience.
