A delightful dessert featuring a buttery tart shell filled with fresh berries.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 2 cups mixed berries (e.g., raspberries, blueberries, strawberries)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Add the egg yolk and cold water; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Press the dough into tartlet pans and trim the edges.
  5. Bake the tart shells for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
  6. In another bowl, combine mixed berries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
  7. Fill the baked tart shells with the berry mixture.
  8. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until berries are bubbly.
  9. Let cool before serving.
